I am having guests over this weekend and became at little ambitious in making a dessert. I attempted to make a 4 layer coconut-peach layer cake. I woke up early, went shopping before 8 am and began to make my cake. everything went smoothly till the end( of course)when right before I was to put the last layer on before icing it, it cracked in multiple places and fell apart! I am DEVASTATED!! Angus had fun though. I have downloaded the picture of it as my user pic for everyones viewing pleasure and to help me laugh at it instead of screaming... needless to say, I am done with baking for now, a la Ben and Jerrys for dessert!

Punkin Chukin' festival

Mike and I went to the punkin chukin festival on saturday. the traffic to get into the festival was horrible! Just massive lines of truck holding drunk college hicks. Most sitting the back of pick ups screaming "if your horny beep!" then while in traffic on the side roads you have these trailer park-type homes that take advantage of the festival and sell confederate flags and country fried steak sandwiches on their front lawn like it was yard sale. once we actually got into the grounds they had ROTC kids no older than 15 years directing traffic, they really did not know what they were doing, some were talking on cell phones, some where ignoring the gridlock and some where flirting with drunken frat boys ontop of the trucks. The grounds were the cannons and throwers were was a quarter of the size of the parking lot. It was soo packed you couldn't even see the machines! I was all excited about pumpkin ice cream, figuring a festival like punkin chukin would have all different foods made with pumpkin, well that was the biggest disapointment! the only pumpkin foods they had was pumpkin waffles ( which taste like pumpkin chips) and Mrs. Smith brand pumpkin pie! Not even home-made!!They did have 13 different fish and crab sandwiches like the chesapeake fluff made out of crab,,it sounded soo gross, i don't know how the hell you make fluff out of crabs. All in all, the punkin chukin was nothing but a gathering a drunk southerns you have nothing better to do then to put hollowed out pumpkins on their heads and paint their bodies orange! It made realize ...I am not in Jersey anymore!

Any recommendation would be great!I know I will definately be watching TAPS Halloween special tonight. Hopefully Grant and Jason will not de-bunk a haunting tonight.
